This evening a memorable experience in any journey in Kerala is a Boat Trip along the Palm Fringed Lakes & Backwaters of the Area; we enjoy this extraordinary excursion today. As we sail along the shady canals we see cantilevered Chinese fishing nets. From our launch, we enjoy use of narrow produced – Laden dugouts & the everyday life of families living on narrow spits of land between the waters. Later we attend the performance of the Kathakali, one of India’s most famous Classical dances. Lavish Costumes & Exotic makeup & Masks intensify the beauty of the dancers, intricate moments. Overnight stay.
Day 02 Kochi – Periyar (Thekkady)
We leave Cochin & Drive to a tranquil hill retreat, the Spicy Village. Along the way we pass through Tea, Cinnamon, Clove & Cardamom plantations –beautiful to see & smell! Our hotel is set in a Spicy Garden & has been molded after the Tribal dwellings of the area; each Cottage has thatched roof & a deep, Airy Verandah. This evening we visit the nearby Periyar Game Sanctuary, Game viewing here is like no other Safari experience. We simply relax in a Motor Launch & sail along as heards of Elephant & Bison come into view. During the dry season Tigers & Panthers come down to the Lake shore for a drink – be sure to have plenty of film on hand. Overnight stay.
Day 03 Periyar – Kumarakom (124 km)
After leisure morning drive to Kumarakom. If you have ever wondered how time stands still, you have come to the right place. The Kumarakom is the land of unique characteristic, panoramic backwater stretches. Lush paddy fields, highlands. Enjoy the beauty of back water resort and surrounding on the banks of Vembanad in more than Stroll through its verdant landscape and you’ll be transported to an era gone by. Where the mystique of the past and the richness of the timeless heritage lives on to this day.
Day 04 House Boat (life time experience)
After breakfast transfer to Jetty to meet your way own floating hotel in the famous backwaters. Ketuvallam (An Authentic Kerala Houseboat) - the moving master piece, have been plying the inland waterways of southwest India for untold centuries and originally used as cargo rice boats. Overnight in House Boat.
Day 05 Alleppey – Kovalam (175 km)
House Boat arrives at Alleppey finishing point jetty. On arrival checkout from house boat after breakfast and transfer to Kovalam. Kovalam – an uncluttered beach of silvery sands fringed with rows of tall palms, a sheltered bay, and a wide choice of water sports. Kovalam is the perfect place for a seaside holiday. Stroll through the beach side and enjoy the facilities of the resort. Here your stay will be 2 nights. Overnight stay.
Day 06 Kovalam
After breakfast proceed for half day city of Trivandrum. It is bounded by the Arabian Sea in the west and Tamilnadu in the east. Visit: the Napier Museum, Kutiramalika Museum. Sri Padmanabha Swamy Temple. Afternoon Rest & Relax on Beach Resort hotel. Overnight stay.
Day 07 Departure Onward Destination
Say Goodbye to newly become friends of this fascinating land and transfer to Trivandrum / Cochin Airport to board the flight for onward destination.
